I have a mother in the Faith
Who crossed the mountain heights,
Who walked with God on stony paths,
And followed His great light.
She did not leave the cross of shame
To walk in flowered ways,
But followed closely with her Lord
Through dark and sunny days.
Though she has gone to be with Him,
The One she loved below,
I feel her presence ever near.
She guides me as I go.
"Don't take the path of compromise",
She whispers in my ear.
"Be faithful to the Lord you love.
Walk in His holy fear".
And when the way is tough and long,
My cross seems hard to bear.
Her faithfulness fills me with strength.
Her love dries every tear.
How can I thank you Lord for her?
She has an honored place.
Her countenance within my heart,
Reflects your truth and grace.
