A Christian Grief Ministry
|
I've struggled in this body
For many a long year
They say I should be happy
Content with what appears
But in me there is a longing
Deeper than my soul
A thirsting of my spirit
To reach a higher goal
My soul cleaves to the curséd earth
But my spirit soars above
Longing for my Savior
And the place of perfect love
So struggle on my loved one
Imprisoned in your pain
For you are here an exile
But you will laugh again
For your chrysalis shell is bursting
A little more each day
Soon you will be a butterfly
And heavenward fly away
In the Presence of your Master
When your suffering is complete
Is the river of his pleasures
And satisfaction deep
Then you will see a meaning
For all your pain that's past
Your new wings radiant in the sun
Your spirit home at last.
