About Us

Rainbow Faith was created in 1999 as a place of encouragement for those going through grief. Poems and stories written by Ferna Lary Mills were posted online to encourage others, soon joined by more poems and stories by Betty Sue Eaton our associate author, and later followed by even more stories and poems from our Guest authors. We have continued to strive to be a place of encouragement with the addition of memorials, a children’s memorial wall, pet memorials, and a “Life After Loss” print subscription for those who have no online access.

This “blog” is our latest attempt to offer even more words of encouragement to help others through the pain of grief. There is no pain like grief, no pill to ease the pain, and no cure for this heartache. But we have discovered that there is One who can grant us Peace even through the pain; One who will walk beside us every step of the way so we are not alone; and One who promises that these sorrows are not forever, and THIS is NOT the end!

Please read the poems and stories at Rainbow Faith to encourage you and give you hope. Our words can’t take away the pain, but hopefully they can lead you to the One who can ~ Jesus Christ, who is the same today as yesterday, and whose promises are as true today as when they were first spoken.

Guestbook Option:  You may post your comments to any of the stories here, or use the comments at the bottom of each post as a “guestbook” entry and leave comments regarding any poem or story you have read at Rainbow Faith. We are also interested in general comments about our website, or your personal journey. You never know, but the words you place here could be the words to encourage the next reader who drops in.

Rainbow Faith is an Encouragement Ministry.

You CAN Teach an Old Dog New Tricks!

From Ferna Lary Mills:  This blog is a new addition to Rainbow Faith, and one I feel strongly that we have needed for some time. Unfortunately, my techno skills are lacking a bit so please bear with me until I can get the hang of this “blogging” thing.  In the meantime, sit back, grab a cup of coffee and a hanky or two and join me on a journey of the heart. I hope to be able to offer some encouraging words from my heart to yours that you can carry with you through the days and months ahead.

If there is not a current post to go with your coffee, please read some of the stories we have posted under our “Life After Loss” section. My favorite is “How Big Is a Millimeter” that tries to answer the awful “WHY?” question running around in our heads. In the meantime, have a blessed day.

Remember, no matter what is going on in our life, “God is Good!”. ~ Ferna
