Dear Lord,
In the spring of our lives, we are young and vibrant and
as vigorous with life as the tender shoots from the
garden bed. We are like the blooms readying to set seed
and be prolific.
In summer, we blow in the wind, bending and swaying
with the winds and storms like the trees, full and strong.
Our lives are as full as lush garden growth and just as
productive.
Now, in fall, with aches in our bodies and hearts, we
must accept the leaving of loved ones, much as a tree
tolerates the loss of its leaves.

And at last, in our winters, we must accept the snow that is falling upon us.
Bless us, Oh Lord, that we may accept the changing seasons of our lives, even as we
accept the changing seasons in our gardens.
Thank You, Lord.
Amen.
