Good vs. Evil
September 11, 2001
Evil exists.
It showed itself in America on September 11th.
Evil has but one mission:
to destroy Good.

It's an old story, this war between Good and Evil.
The scriptures tell of some of these battles.
The news tells of others, both here and abroad.
Today we see it's face first hand and it's very real.
It's Evil.
It's merciless.

It kills Good people.
It destroys Good families.
It maims Good nations.
This unmerciful thing called Evil.

Is there hope?
Can Good truly win against Evil?
The answers are found in the scriptures,
"All things work for Good for those that love the Lord."

What does this
really mean?
It means that  ALL things can only result in GOOD things
for those that love the Lord.
Yes, even Evil things.
For if we love the Lord, all Evil will result in Good.

Our loss, our pain, and our despair blind us.
We cannot see beyond our pain for it's too fresh,
too painful, too deep, too devastating.
But God can.
He knows the final outcome.
He knows the end of this war.
He knows Good will win in the end.
He PROMISES us Good will win.
His own Son died as a seal to that promise to us.

The days are dark for us now.
The pain is deep.
The hurt is overwhelming.
I don't know the "why" of all of this, but I trust in God
to know that Good will come in the end.

Hang on tightly to your faith.
Be fervent in your prayers.
Seek God's face and his peace that surpasses all
human understanding.

Psalm 23: 1-3:
"The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid?"

Psalm 46: 1-3:
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."
