With these few lines I wish to convey
the thoughts that fill my mind.
Thoughts of a wonderful yesterday
of a woman who was an Angel
before her time.
When I was a baby, premature and weak,
and unable to lift even my head,
two pounds of bones she held to her cheek.
She loved me and caressed me.
She made sure I was fed.
And then as I grew to be a man
along with the other nine,
this Angel walked with me and held my hand.
She led me. She guided me.
She shaped my mind.
Then her time came and she was called away
to live with her God in the sky.
She never complained.
She thought of others, always.
With a world so full of bad,
why must the wonderful die?
God made one mistake in His overall plan
when He gave unto man his birth,
Angels were to wear halos in the
Promised Land.
Mother wore hers here on earth.
