When times are the hardest is often when prayers are the hardest as our hearts just cry out in anguish. During
a trying period of my own grief, I was reminded of when Jesus taught his disciples how to pray with what we call
"The Lord's Prayer". As I went back to the scriptures, it struck me that he never told us to pray for the things
we would need tomorrow. His prayer was "Give us THIS day our daily bread..." This day.Take one day at a
time and know He already has tomorrow under his control. The following is my prayer for THIS day. Use it in
part or in whole in your own prayers.
Most loving Father in Heaven,
Holy and Hallowed is your Name.

Let your Kingdom come and let your will be done
on earth just as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and the peace and comfort of knowing that
you  meet our needs on a daily basis.

Because of you, I shall not want.
I shall not fear, for you are ever present.
I thank you for your Grace, and for your gift of Today.

I am blessed by your understanding, your forgiveness,
and for the many blessings you have bestowed upon me.

Help me be a blessing to others.
Forgive me for things I have said, done or thought that
not pleasing to you.

Help me to forgive others
as you forgive me.
Let me be more like you.

Let your Light within me be a beacon
to help others find their way to you.
Keep me from temptation and from all evil.
Give me a heart of discernment.

Send angels to put a hedge of protection around me
and my family as you lead us through
out this day.
Help me to go through this day
with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude.

Create in me a thankful heart.
Let me make the best of this day with a clear mind
so that through it all, I can hear you.

This day, I shall seek you with all my heart.
Let me not whine and whimper.

Some things are
beyond my control.
When I am pushed beyond my limits, remind me to use my best response.
There are times that I am too distraught to pray.
Thank you that you listen to my heart and respond to the
cries of my Spirit.
Be my strength when I am weak or when I have no strength of my own.
Keep me strong, that I may help the weak.

Your strength is sufficient for me.
Fill me with your Spirit that I may understand your truths.
Help me to seek your will; use me to do your will.

When my heart is in gear, help me to put my hands and feet in motion
to do what you call me to do.
Keep me alert that I may hear and respond to the needs of others.

Pain is often simmering, hiding behind smiles.
Remind me to look deeper. Let me always be kind.
Keep me uplifted
that I may have the
words of encouragement
others desperately need to hear.
I pray for those that don't believe,
and for those who do believe
but don’t really know you intimately.
I pray for those who are without Hope; those who are grieving;
those who are hurting or sick;
for those who are lonely;
and for those who are
in financial distress.
I pray for Peace; for our Nation; for our leaders; for our military
I pray for our schools and teachers;
our churches and pastors;
our neighbors; our children.
I pray for all my sisters and brothers in Christ, and for their families.

I p
ray for their health, and peace in their homes.
I pray for my children and grandchildren,
that they will grow strong in their faith and seek you.
Thank you for meeting their needs
and for your constant protection.
I thank you that you change people, things and circumstances,
but I am most grateful that YOU never change.
Thank you for your faithfulness
and your eternal, unchanging love.
I thank you that there is no situation, problem or circumstance
greater than your power to handle it.

All things in Heaven and Ear
th are at your command.
Yours IS the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory,
for ever and ever.

In the most precious name of Jesus
and for His sake, I pray.

~ Amen.
