| A Race Well Run |
| Death is but a turning point On life's uncertain rugged road. We all must travel it, someday, To reach our heavenly abode. The path we choose, We take of our own free choice. Do we listen to Satan? Or, do we follow our Lord's sweet voice. Heaven is ours for the asking. But, it's His path we must follow to win. He sets the pace most gently, So we won' follow another in sin. It's not always how you get started, But more important how you end. So, through life's grueling race we run, on Christ you always can depend. His directions are so simple, But we seldom understand ... Because we are but simple men, And always want to lead the band. Now, wouldn't it be easier To let Christ show us the way, And follow in His footsteps, So we could not go astray? Now when the race is over And we think we've won the prize, We'll have to ask our Lord's forgiveness. Then, the prize from Him we'll realize. Our faith, we place in God, And hope we have of winning ... His charity of our entering Heaven, He'll grant from our not sinning. |
